Free online content: a rail good job
Whilst many websites are opting to charge users to view editorial content, rtmjobs.com has decided to buck the trend by keeping all of its editorial content free to use.
The sector leading rail recruitment website, which is produced by the same team as Rail Technology Magazine, is to leave all of its regularly updated news features and other resources completely free to any visitor to the site.
Roy Rowlands, business development manager at rtmjobs.com, said that, although it was important for both websites and publications to find new and more innovative ways to create revenue during the economic downturn, turning away potential readers from their website was not a course of action that they would be taking.
He said: “Although we are always looking to focus our readership, we do not believe that restricting the audience for both our online content and our advertisers is the way to go forward at the moment, given the current economic climate.”
