Major Network Rail contractor appoints new rail boss
Dyer & Butler, one of Network Rail’s principal contractors, has announced the appointment of a new rail director, set to focus on the upcoming CP6 framework.
Chris Darlow, who has worked for a number of other major rail and engineering firms in his 20-year career, is expected to build on the Dyer & Butler’s rail business, concentrating on upcoming major programmes of work.
The company’s managing director, Neil Edwards, praised Darlow for his “considerable sector knowledge” and said he was “delighted” to welcome the director.
“Chris brings extensive specialist rail and metro experience to this role,” Edwards commented.
“Having successfully overseen an impressive range of high-profile, multi-disciplinary engineering projects including civil, building, M&E, signalling and telecoms, further strengthening our rail team and being an important part of our growth strategy for the rail business.
“Our rail division delivers a wide range of services and solutions tailored for the rail industry and Chris brings considerable sector knowledge and skills to this important role.”
Dyer & Butler completes a range of work in the rail sector, including early design and feasibility studies, bridge construction, station refurbishment and maintenance, and platform development.
