Network Rail rewards its top suppliers at Partnership Awards

RTM joined some of the biggest names in the rail industry at the annual Network Rail Partnership Awards at the Imperial War Museum near Cambridge last night.

The team behind the stunning King’s Cross Station Western Range building and Western concourse, made up of ARUP, John McAslan and Partners and VINCI Construction UK Ltd, was one of the big winners on the night, jointly winning the ‘Best Large Project’ award along with Costain/Laing O’Rourke for the N222 Farringdon station upgrade.

‘Supplier of the Year’ went to Babcock, while the best medium project (valued between £3m and £20m) also went to Babcock for theBostonto Skegness Track Renewals Campaign. ScotRail also did well, walking off with multiple awards, while the Commercial Directors Forum won a special prize for their work on the Fair Payment Charter.

The awards were presented by the top team at Network Rail, including David Higgins, Simon Kirby, Robin Gisby and others, while the night was hosted by BBC sports broadcaster Garry Richardson and football legend Kevin Keegan.

Higgins said: “These awards are an opportunity for Network Rail to recognise the contribution and support provided by you; our partners, suppliers and customers. Tonight we will celebrate your achievements over the past year, helping us to deliver key investments across the network and build a better railway forBritain. I’d like to personally thank you all for your continued effort and commitment.”
