Three minute thrill for rail personnel
Source: Rail Technology Magazine Oct/Nov 2006
Rail personnel across the country are set to benefit from a brand-new temporary accommodation unit, which can be sited and installed in under three minutes.
Developed by GE Equipment Services Modular Space (GenQuip), the GE GroundHog unit has been designed with customers in mind, and offers a cost-effective, highly flexible alternative to traditional site welfare facilities.
The GroundHog can accommodate to six personnel at once, and, when no longer required on a particular site, can be simply towed to the next one – cutting the transportation costs usually incurred with larger alternatives.
The GroundHog, which meets Rail Track approval TEL/14958/005, adds to GenQuip’s range of temporary and portable products, which includes the new ModuFlex unit, a flexible, open-plan unit, as well as more traditional timber or steel office and site accommodation.
In addition to its impressive portfolio of buildings and installations, GE has developed an extensive service package, covering professional advice, transport, installation and removal.
