National train performance ticks up to 93%
National train performance was at 93% for period 1, Network Rail has announced.
The latest PPM covers the period from April 1 to 27 and compares to 93.3% for the same period last year. It is an improvement on period 13, when PPM stood at 91.4%.
The moving annual average (MAA) is now at 90.9%.
London Overground and Merseyrail scored the best performance this period, with both franchises at 96.4%. c2c still holds the highest MAA, at 97.3%.
The worst performing franchise was East Coast at 85.1%, and Virgin Trains has the lowest MAA at 83.5%.
Services on the East Coast Main Line were impacted by two overhead line incidents near Potters Bar and Grantham, a signalling fault at Sandy and a fatality near Berwick upon Tweed, Network Rail said.
