Crossrail wins Investors in People Award

Crossrail won the ‘Excellence in the Public Sector’ category at the inaugural Investors in People Awards this week, beating strong competition from Chelmsford City Council, the DVLA and City of Edinburgh Council.

RTM's Roy Rowlands was a judge for the category and presented awards at the ceremony, Investors in People ‘Gold’ accredited Landmark Hotel on Monday, hosted by Hugh Dennis.

Rob Jones, head of organisational effectiveness at Crossrail, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award. Crossrail is not just about delivering a major new railway for London and the South East; it is about investing in people, unifying them around a common goal, providing effective leadership but also increasing diversity in our industry and delivering a skills legacy that will benefit future UK infrastructure projects for decades to come.”

Glasgow Housing Association bagged the ‘Overall Award’ on the night.

Roy Rowlands, business development director at RTM and sister title Public Sector Executive, said: “It was a fantastic night and great to see so many excellent organisations recognised for their success and ambition. The ‘Excellence in the Public Sector’ category had a very strong shortlist, making it a tough decision, but Crossrail won out in the end.”
