Caledonian Sleeper unveil first look inside new £150m fleet
Caledonian Sleeper has revealed the design and interiors of its new £150m fleet of trains as the service nears its launch at the end of May.
The first images from inside the new trains built by CAF have been released, showing the interior design and layout of the rooms, double beds and ensuites.
The overnight rail service between London and Glasgow/Edinburgh will be “transformed” by the 75 new carriages which will begin operating at the end of May.
The trains, which were originally due to enter into service in April 2018, will then debut on the Highlander route between London, Aberdeen, Inverness and Fort William, and customers can already make bookings for travel on the new trains from 2 June.
Caledonian Sleeper said the new fleet will deliver “significantly different and improved accommodation” compared to the current trains, with comfort seats, classic rooms, club rooms, Caledonian doubles, and accessible rooms.

The new rolling stock was constructed in Spain by CAF at a cost of £150m, which was part funded by a capital grant of £60m from Scottish ministers.
