Interfleet to open north of the border

Scotland is the next stop for leading international rail consultancy Interfleet, which is due to open its first office in Scotland this month.

When the Edinburgh office opens, the city will join an Interfleet office list that includes addresses in Derby, London, Sydney, Philadelphia, and Stockholm, among 18 others.

Headed up by Interfleet principal consultant Magnus Conn, who will become operations manager – Scotland, the Edinburgh office will provide Interfleet with a central strategic base from which to exploit opportunities in the region.

Magnus currently works from an office in Dunbar, but will work from the Edinburgh office, and will be responsible for the recruitment of top-level managers and consultants from engineering and non-engineering disciplines.

Magnus says: “We already have a strong Scottish client-base, including First ScotRail, but there is a real business need for us to open an office in Edinburgh, which will provide us with a geographic advantage to further develop this highly-competitive market. We are currently recruiting two staff and are confident of further additions to the team beyond that in the near future – indeed we are already receiving applications from people who are interested in joining our new Scottish operation”.

“There are many opportunities in Scotland that would be best serviced from an office in the capital and so that is where our dedicated Scotland team will be based – it’s an exciting time for the business.”

With its cross-disciplinary approach ensuring it can provide answers on everything from training, rolling stock and environmental issues to railway operations, infrastructure, and human factors, Interfleet currently supports a number of organisations in Scotland, including transport executives, operators, manufacturers, maintainers and overhaulers.
