Lombard funds GrantRail’s fleet extension
GrantRail Group Ltd. has extended its fleet of ‘on-track’ plant equipment after securing funding from Lombard and The Royal Bank of Scotland.
The new equipment forms part of the company’s expansion plans following the successful conclusion of a multi-million pound award by Network Rail to utilise GrantRail’s tamper fleet over a three year period. Funded by Lombard, the equipment will be used on the national rail network and forms part of the company’s significant investment strategy and will be operated by GrantPlant, part of the GrantRail Group.
GrantRail Group has a team of highly trained engineers that use specialist equipment to undertake a variety of UK track and infrastructure projects, including tamping on plain lines, switches, and crossings, ballasting, re-ballasting, signalling and overhead line works.
Keith Eaton, Group Financial Director at GrantRail, said, “The contract secured with Network Rail secures the long-term future of our GrantPlant business based in Scunthorpe, the base from which the ‘on-track’ plant is managed and maintained. The funding provided by Lombard and The Royal Bank of Scotland has helped us meet increased demand as GrantRail Group widely recognised as a leading force in the UK rail infrastructure industry.”
