PEI-Genesis offers ITT’s versatile VEAM CIR connectors with
International assembling distributor PEI-Genesis has added ITT’s VEAM CIR series of multipin circular connectors to its product range and will be offering them with the company’s unrivalled 48-hour assembly service from May 2007.
Designed specifically for the hostile environment of mass-transit applications, the VEAM CIR series can be configured to function as electrical, optical or pneumatic connectors and therefore simplify the design process as well as reducing product inventories. In addition, this versatile connector is available in high voltage, twin or tri-axial, hermetic and EMC versions.
PEI-Genesis achieves its 48-hour service by carrying large stocks of piece parts and using in house developed machines to automate the connector assembly process.
With the expansion of the company’s portfolio to include the VEAM CIR connectors, engineers and buyers in the rail sector will now be able to obtain the exact connector for their requirement in the shortest possible time and without the burden of minimum order quantities; PEI-Genesis will happily supply just one connector if that is all the customer needs.
The basic design parameters of the VEAM CIR series were derived from the MIL-C-5015 military specification and enhanced by the addition of a positive lock/quick disconnect bayonet coupling mechanism. High shock and vibration resistance is achieved without the need for lock wires, and the connectors are rated for a minimum of 2000 couplings.
They are available in an enormous range of styles, shell sizes and contact arrangements and can be supplied in a wide variety of materials and finishes to suit the demands of each particular application.
The connectors can also be specified with various inserts to meet low smoke/zero halogen requirements and provide superior resistance to fuel oils, solvents and elevated temperatures.
