Glasgow Airport managing director writes for rail extension

Glasgow Airport managing director Amanda McMillan has made a last minute attempt to try to halt the scrapping of the Glasgow Airport Rail Link.

She has written to all MSPs saying that if the rail link is dropped then alternative methods of transport to the airport need to be made available and if this does not happen she is worried that the airport will lose its market share.

In her letter she said: “If passengers cannot easily access Glasgow Airport, they will choose another airport.

“Unless action is taken to address this serious challenge, the reputation of our airport and our ability to attract passengers beyond metropolitan Glasgow will be seriously damaged.”
