Rochdale station to get ‘facelift’

As part of the National Stations Improvement Programme, Rochdale station is due to undergo a £300,000 refurbishment.

The refurbishment will centre around making the station a far more pleasant place for passengers to use and so will include completely redecorating the station and also installing a new toilet.

The work is being jointly funded by Network Rail, Northern Rail and the Greater Manchester Integrated Transport Authority.

Network Rail route director Jo Kaye said: “The work is made possible because of a successful industry partnership, which aims to bring the best to passengers. Network Rail and Northern will continue to work hard on bringing the improvement work at the station to fruition and develop further NSIP plans across the North West.”
