Rail Technology Magazine makes a splash at Railtex 2009
This year’s show proved to be most fruitful for the RTM team, with a lot of very hard work put in by all, both to promote the magazine and our advertisers
“The team have worked unbelievably hard this year,” said Roy C Rowlands, business development manager at Rail Technology Magazine, “We were the biggest and best magazine at the show in terms of ABC audited circulation, we have the largest readership of any UK bi-monthly, more people choose to advertise in RTM than any other rail industry magazine and we have the best editorial content, including interviews with Geoff Hoon and Sir Moir Lockhead.”
The Rail Technology Magazine stand certainly attracted a lot of positive attention, which kept the team very busy.
“We managed to hand out 5000 copies of our Railtex special edition,” continued Roy, “Along with 5000 pens, rulers and bags giving all of our advertisers the extra exposure, which they were promised, at no extra charge. In fact, other exhibitors around our stand were hugely impressed by our performance and could not believe how hard we worked to promote both our magazine and our advertisers.”
The magazine’s new jobs board, rtmjobs.com, also proved to be a great success at the show, with lots of people showing interest and welcoming the new industry specific job site with comments such as ‘about time’ and ‘just what the industry needs’.
One visitor even commented: “It’s great to see an online recruitment solution that looks great, whilst offering job search technology that is akin to some of the big recruitment players such as total jobs or monster.”
Roy continued: “Rail Technology Magazine, which has been put together with over 30 years of experience within the industry, is now in its tenth year, so it was fantastic to see it being so well received by all of those within the industry. On top of this, we had a fantastic time at the show making thousands of great new contacts.”
