Contractor of the project award

Tube Lines are forging ahead with their modernisation projects on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines upgrading some of the busiest stations across the network.

One of Mane Rail’s current projects with Tube Lines is their premises upgrade package at Finchley Central station.

This is a self managed project meaning Tube Lines manage all the work themselves instead of using a principal contractor. The modernisation project includes painting, repointing, paving and carpentry.

Mane Rail and Tube Lines value and recognise the major role the contract staff contribute to the success of these projects. A large number of the subcontractors on site have been provided by Mane Rail.

Based on timekeeping, attendance and diligence there was a clear winner for our “Contractor of the Project” Award. Mr. Wasiu Ashagidigbi has worked for us at this project for over 6 months. Wasiu, a general site hand, was awarded “Contractor of the Project” due to his great attitude, flexibility and willingness to take on any job with gusto.

He was singled out by his project and site managers as well as his fellow Mane Rail colleges as a worthy winner of this award.

Project manager Michael Minta said: “Wasui has been a great role model for Mane at this site, always carrying out his duties to a high standard, always keen to do more. He has been a great help and we would like to thank him for his efforts over and above what is expected.”

Wasiu himself has been impressed with his time working for Mane. “What I’ve seen of Mane compared to other agencies has impressed me. Mane show appreciation for their contractors and I was surprised when they sent a birthday card on my birthday. This type of gesture and service encouraged me to put more into my work and motivated me. I have never had a problem with any payments and communication from Mane has always been very good. I am looking forward to my next job with Mane”.
