Tratos
Tratos, a manufacturer of electrical cable with two factories in Italy and a distribution warehouse in the U.K. have recently obtained BASEC and LPCB approvals for their fire safety cables to meet the requirements of BS5839 1:2002 .
Their Fire-Safe range of cables are designed to operate for extended periods of time and with limited emissions of toxic fumes and smoke in the event of fire, the TW950s product being classified as PH30 (A 15 minute test for fire and impact plus a 15 minute test for fire, impact and water) and the TW950e as PH120 (which extends the test to 60 minutes plus 60 minutes) under BS 8434 and EN50200:2000.
Their use in alarm, CCTV, emergency power, lighting and public address systems is of vital importance for the safety of people in areas requiring evacuation.
They are also producing single core, multi core armoured and optical fibre fire resistant cables as they seek to utilise their experience in this field.
