Siemens sign agreement over cybersecurity monitoring solutions

Siemens Mobility has signed a cooperation agreement with RazorSecure to provide Rolling Stock operators worldwide with enhanced rail cybersecurity monitoring solutions.

Increasing digitalisation brings many benefits however this also creates a need for protection against cyber-attacks.

RazorSecure are experts in providing rail cybersecurity solutions who continuously monitor the behaviour of individual systems and real-time traffic across the full network.

Through its smart digital assent management systems like Railigent Siemens Mobility is committed to guaranteeing the availability of rail systems.

The partnership between Siemens and RazorSecure will look to secure complex transport systems.

Johannes Emmelheinz, CEO of Customer Service at Siemens Mobility spoke on the importance of maintaining the highest levels of cybersecurity.

Mr Emmelheinz said: “Real-time monitoring and the earliest possible detection of irregularities in the IT and software structure of our trains are the only way to ensure 100 percent fleet availability while maintaining the highest level of cybersecurity.

“RazorSecure can help us achieve this goal with their expertise and proven solutions.”

Alex Cowan, CEO of RazorSecure spoke on the rail industry’s necessity to provide high levels of cybersecurity.

Mr Cowan said: “The rail industry needs innovative solutions that are designed specifically for its unique challenges.

“By partnering with Siemens Mobility, we are able to collaborate and build on our product portfolio with the rail cybersecurity expertise, to offer the best comprehensive solutions that enhance the protection of rolling stock.”

Headquartered in Basingstoke RazorSecure is set to become part of Siemens Mobility’s partner ecosystem as part of its Alliance for Availability.

Siemens Mobility currently works with 22 global partners as part of the Alliance for Availability.
