Ansaldo STS and Linbrooke win £34.5m Ferriby-Gilberdyke resignalling project
A £34.5m resignalling contract for the seven main stations on the 56km of railway between Ferriby and Gilberdyke in the East Riding of Yorkshire has been awarded to Ansaldo STS and Linbrooke Services Ltd.
Linbrooke received the £19.35m contract to deliver the signalling and power construction works and the telecommunications system design and construction and to be the overall UK tester in charge.
They won two awards at last night’s UK Rail Industry Awards 2016; the recruitment excellence award for effectively integrating military trainees who complete their courses back into a more comfortable civilian life, and the corporate social responsibility award for their multi-sector approach to military resettlement, school partnership and charity fundraising,
Consortium leaders Ansaldo received £15.15m to design and supply the computer-based interlocking system between railway signals which will be introduced onto the route, having been previously installed on HS1 and Cambrian Lines, as well as designing, supplying and integrating the axle counter system.
The resignalling project begins this month and is due to be commissioned in March 2018.
