London Underground and TfL

A visible improvement below ground

Graffiti costs the London Underground millions of pounds every year, and surveys have shown that people feel safer in graffiti-free areas. The need to protect the walls of the tube is obvious to everyone.

AquaTec has being working for several years in partnership with the London Underground to develop unique anti-graffiti paint systems, which meet their demanding requirements.

AquaTec’s anti-graffiti coatings are not only highly resistant to graffiti, but also cause graffiti to bead and repel from the coating surface. The effect leaves a poor impression of the original graffiti ‘artwork’ which becomes an embarrassment to the graffiti artist. This discourages further graffiti attacks on the protected surface.

AquaTec’s anti-graffiti coatings have been designed to be easy to apply, are low odour and provide rapid drying properties. Each of the company’s anti-graffiti coatings is solvent free, and thus contain none of the volatile organic components (VOCs) which contribute to global warming.

GraffiTec HS-300 is a permanent anti-graffiti coating which is available as matt, satin or gloss. Based on the very latest coating technology, this high solids coating gives the ultimate in anti-graffiti performance.

GraffiTec Invis-100 is a permanent, non-sacrificial, breathable anti-graffiti coating for porous masonry surfaces. Based on the latest nano-technology, GraffiTec Invis-100 provides excellent anti-graffiti, dirt and water repellent properties. As the coating is totally invisible when dry, the appearance of the substrate remains absolutely unchanged.

AquaLac Maintenance Coating is a high-performance water based easily cleanable coating for masonry, fiberboard and any pre-painted substrate. AquaLac Maintenance Coating is extremely durable and has special properties which prevent dirt, grime or pollutants from penetrating into the coating, thus allowing easy removal of the contaminants. AquaLac Maintenance Coating is easy to apply and available in any colour.

ArmourTec AC-300 is a fast drying, versatile masonry coating which is easy to apply and provides excellent hiding power. On masonry or painted surfaces it provides excellent durability, is effective at obliterating graffiti and prevents graffiti bleed through.

All our paint systems have been independently tested by Warrington Fire Research Centre, where they have achieved class 0 fire rating and comply with smoke density and toxic emission tests.
