New senior team for Hitachi Rail Europe
Hitachi has announced a range of new appointments to its senior management team, to meet the challenges of the Intercity Express Programme contract.
Chiaki Ueda, former chairman of Hitachi Rail Europe, is retiring. His replacement, Alistair Dormer, will take the position of Executive Chairman and CEO.
Hirofumi Ojima has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer and Andy Barr is the new Senior Vice President and Head of Projects, Operations and Maintenance.
Barr will be supported in his new role by Russell Hargrave, Head of Maintenance, and Ross Cunningham, Depot Delivery Manager.
Jamie Foster has been appointed Procurement Director.
Dormer said: “With the close of contract of the Intercity Express Programme, we reached a major milestone and will now concentrate on delivering the programme in the same way we delivered the Class 395 – on time and to budget.
“We have ambitious growth targets for Hitachi Rail Europe in the UK and in continental Europe and the new leadership team will be fully focused on delivering these with the help of our highly committed colleagues.”
