Rail Technology Magazine fuels the Northern Powerhouse with official partnership

Cognitive Publishing, the home of leading railway industry title Rail Technology Magazine, has been selected as an official partner of the Northern Powerhouse.

In support of the regional initiative, Cognitive will join a network of leaders and organisations who believe in supporting and delivering on the economic potential of the North.

As a family-run business dedicated to amplifying the voices of the North, Cognitive Publishing is a leading multimedia publisher and events organiser nested in the heart of Manchester. As part of a larger audience, it attracts more than 200,000 leaders directly responsible for building, shaping, and delivering the Northern Powerhouse, and is currently looking to double its workforce to contribute even further to this important regional agenda.

Cognitive Publishing and its audience are committed to fuelling the momentum of the Northern Powerhouse, ensuring it gets the coverage it deserves and remains at the forefront of the nation’s mind in order to secure a fair deal for the people of the North.

Over the last five years, Cognitive and Rail Technology Magazine have successfully shaped the future of rail investment in the North through TransCityRail, which attracts speakers such as such as Chair of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership and former Chancellor George Osborne, Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham, Northern Powerhouse Rail Director Tim Wood, and Anna-Jane Hunter, Director of North of England Rail at Network Rail.

Recognising the demand for a networking event with a sole focus on celebrating the Northern Powerhouse, Cognitive has also recently launched EvoNorth, which has already confirmed the attendance of Henri Murison, Director of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership; Emma Degg, Chief Executive at North West Business Leaders; Tracy Harrison, Deputy Chief Executive of the Northern Housing Consortium; Anna-Jane Hunter, Director of North of England Rail at Network Rail; Barry White, Chief Executive of Transport for the North; and Peter Molyneux, Strategic Roads Director at Transport for the North.

EvoNorth is uniting leaders from across the region to solidify a blueprint for the future of the Northern Powerhouse. Cognitive Publishing is delighted to be working alongside the government and organisations such as Transport for the North to ignite the ‘One Agenda, One Economy, One North’ strategy.

Cognitive Publishing’s Managing Director, Roy V Rowlands, said: “As a northern-based SME we are really excited about the opportunity the Northern Powerhouse offers the region. We have an influential audience of leaders tasked with the responsibility of shaping the future of the North for the people who live within it. My team and I are proud to play a part in that.”

Northern Powerhouse Minister, Jake Berry MP, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Cognitive Publishing to the Northern Powerhouse Partners Programme – our growing coalition of private and public sector organisations who proudly champion the strengths of our region.

“With exciting publications and events like EvoNorth bringing together leaders and academics from across our region, they are well placed to support us in turning our Northern Powerhouse vision into a reality.”

If you are reading this and are as passionate about the Northern Powerhouse as we are, then we would love to hear from you. Please contact Roy C Rowlands on 0161 833 6320 or [email protected].
