Track re-opens after landslide
A section of track that has been closed since the end of last week due to a landslide caused by heavy rain has now re-opened.
The railway between Inverness and Aviemore had to be closed on April 27 when an 18 metre (60 foot) section of the lineside gave way near the Slochd, a pass between Inverness and Carrbridge.
About 2,000 tonnes of rock was used to shore up the sloping landslide to get the line back open by 7.30pm last night.
Services are now running normally, ScotRail said, following days of replacement buses for passengers.
