Lorne Stewart wins Wales contract

Arriva Trains Wales has awarded Lorne Stewart Plc a substantial contract to provide mechanical and electrical maintenance to 237 railway stations across its network in Wales and the border counties of England.

The building engineering services group will be responsible for a 20,000 km2 region extending from Bristol to north Wales and into parts of Cheshire and Merseyside for a five-year period. The majority of the work will concentrate on a lighting and building infrastructure programme for both planned and reactive projects.

Stuart Lawrie, managing director of services at Lorne Stewart, said the appointment reflected the company’s growing reputation in the transport sector. He explained the reason for the company’s success with the project, “This contract was won on the back of our service to others in the rail industry. We believe that when you give your customers top notch service, your reputation pays you back time and time again and that’s certainly our experience in the rail sector.”
