New hand held printer is just the ticket

Technology solutions specialist, Brother, has launched a new hand held A6 mobile printer designed for ticket inspectors who need to print on the move.

Slim, light and compact, the new M-Print device allows users to print documents from a PDA, BlackBerry or laptop, wherever they are.

The portability of the new machine makes it perfect for printing out tickets and fines. It can also reduce the amount of paperwork ticket inspectors required to carry; timetable information can be printed for members of the public when the M-print is used as part of a mobile data solution. Users will save time normally spent recording details by hand and improve passenger service.

The new M-Print MW-260BT can print on several kinds of paper, including carbon copy sheets – especially useful when a signature is required.

An earlier version, the MW-140BT, is already in use with French rail operator SNCF, where it has been a great success.

The new model MW-260BT prints on larger format paper - A6 rather than A7 - offering greater choice to users who require larger print outs or need to fit more data on the page.

A Bluetooth connection removes the need for cables and thermal transfer technology provides quick, mess free printing, with no ink cartridges to change.

Brother printing software is included for Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 5 PDA’s, Blackberry and Windows 2000/XP/Vista PC’s and laptops.

Software development kits can be provided for Compact Framework, C++, CE.Net and Blackberry to add mobile printing into bespoke applications.

The Brother M-Print MW-260BT will be priced at £322.55 (SRP ex VAT).
