Police appeal after train disturbance

British Transport Police investigators are appealing for witnesses after two youths were allegedly assaulted on board a train between Saltaire and Skipton

The incident was reported to police at 8.33am on Thursday 30 April.

Officers from BTP and North Yorkshire Police attended Skipton station following reports of a disturbance on board the 8.11am Bradford to Skipton Service.

A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault following the incident and has been bailed to return to police in late June.

Officers are now appealing for information to assist them in establishing exactly what took place.

"This train was quite busy so there must have been a number of people who saw this incident," said PC Antony Greenwood, “and I am appealing for anyone who saw the incident to come forward.

“We will be making local enquiries and speaking with witnesses and ask anyone who thinks they might have any information that could assist the investigation into this incident is asked to contact police.”
