SNC-Lavalin buys Interfleet
Interfleet, a Derby rail firm that specialises in rolling stock, railway systems and management, has been bought by the Canadian company SNC-Lavalin. The firm employs about 300 people, and SNC-Lavalin has confirmed that none of these jobs are at risk.
David Rollin, from Interfleet, said: “The acquisition represents the best way to assure the future growth and development of the company.
“Interfleet and SNC-Lavalin have a complementary geographical reach and our company cultures and respective strategic plans are aligned. Together we will be able to provide an even wider range of resources, capabilities and services to our clients in future.”
Jim Burke, executive vice president of SNC-Lavalin Group, said: “Interfleet's specialized expertise, complementary geographic presence and reputation for innovation are a strong addition to SNC-Lavalin's service offering, particularly given the great growth potential in the rail sector worldwide.”
