Young minds, big ideas

It was another great day at iRail, the Derby event whose aims and ambitions helped inspire RTM’s own UK Rail Industry Training Trust.

One of the best bits is hearing inquisitive schoolchildren hearing something about the railways and asking ‘Why?’ The answer, for seasoned railway veterans, is usually easy. But sometimes there’s a pause, as they struggle to think of what to say, and end up stumped – ‘You know, I’ve never really thought about that…’

It was great to see new companies exhibiting for the first time and really getting into the spirit of the day, and Richard Parry-Jones’ distinguished lecture at the end of the day was extremely thought-provoking too. See the next edition of RTM for full coverage.
