New rail job for ex-London Underground CEO
It has been announced that Mike Brown will be the new managing director of London Underground.
In announcing the appointment, Transport Commissioner, Peter Hendy said that Mr Brown had a great record for both delivery and leadership.
He also said that Mr Brown would be taking over at one of the most crucial points of London Underground’s history, but that TfL had found the right man for the rail job.
Mayor of London, Boris Johnson said: “Mike is an experienced leader, and will make a superb boss of the Tube. I know that Mike will lead from the front. He'll help to deliver value for money and maintain staff pride in working for the oldest metro system in the world and in providing exceptional customer service.”
