Scotrail employs youngest ever train driver
A twenty-one-year-old has become the youngest ever train driver to work for Scotrail and is reportedly delighted with his new rail job.
The young man, Douglas Craddock, who had spent two years working in the Royal Navy, originally wanted to be a aircraft pilot, but was just as excited about being able to drive a train.
He said: “The training was intense but it’s amazing how much you take in. Now that I’m out driving by myself, I’m loving it - and the money’s not
bad either!”
The money certainly isn’t bad, at a credit crunch busting starting wage of around £27,000.
