All set for Railtex

Source: RTM Apr/May 17

As the rail industry prepares for the biggest UK rail show of the year, Railtex 2017, we have produced a specially expanded edition of RTM for you.

Our exclusive show guide, which starts on page 67, provides you with everything you need to know about the things to see, hear and do at the three-day show. A look through our preview pages will give you a good idea of which stands to visit, as well as meetings to set up.

The RTM team – as ever – will be at Railtex talking to our readers, advertisers and friends. You can find us on stand P41. After the success of The Platform at last year’s Infrarail, we will be hosting three lively Q&A sessions on Productivity and Industrial Strategy, Rail Infrastructure and the Midlands Engine at Railtex – so make sure you book your tickets.

In the last edition of RTM, we revealed the winners of this year’s UK Rail Industry Awards (UKRIA). I’m now happy to announce that entries can be submitted for the next instalment of UKRIA. The deadline to enter is 25 September, and more information about the award categories can be found on page 32 and online at: www.ukria.com.

I’m also pleased to reveal the date for the ever-successful TransCityRail North Conference and Networking Dinner. Located, once again, at the Principal Hotel in Manchester, the event will take place on 5 October.

Speakers and panellists include Andy Haynes, contract and procurement director of route services at Network Rail; Paul Griffiths, phase 2b director at HS2; David Waboso, group managing director of Digital Railway; Clair Mowbray, CEO of the National College for High Speed Rail; and many more. Further details can be found on page 22 and online at: www.TransCityRail.com.

In addition to our Railtex Preview, this edition includes exclusive updates on the new TransPennine Express, Merseyrail and Great Western Railway fleets. We also have commentary on the passage of HS2’s hybrid bill for phase 1, and sections focusing on station modernisation, digital railway, and training and staff development.

I’d also like to say a massive thank you to all our contributors, interviewees and production team who have helped with this brilliant edition of RTM.
