Jo Kaye to replace outgoing Paul Plummer as Network Rail’s strategy director
Jo Kaye has been appointed Network Rail’s new director of strategy and planning, building on her two-year experience in the same position for the north of England.
She will replace Paul Plummer when he steps down later this month to lead the Rail Delivery Group and the Association of Train Operating Companies.
Kaye has a long track record with the rail industry, having joined Railtrack as a graduate and building experience in operational management roles in Network Rail. She then moved on to become route managing director of the LNW route, after which she took up her current position.
Mark Carne, chief executive of Network Rail, said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Jo as director of network strategy and capacity planning. She brings strategic planning and deep industry knowledge and has developed strong relationships with stakeholders including the Department for Transport and local authorities.”
She will be a key speaker and one of the six panellists at RTM’s TransCityRail North next month, a black tie event in Manchester bringing together businesses, government and the UK rail industry to discuss rail in the north of England and the creation of the Northern Powerhouse.
The other keynote speaker is Simon Kirby, chief executive of HS2 Ltd.
