Staying on top
The new European Commission survey puts the UK in a very favourable position for railway passenger satisfaction.
Second out of 26 member states is great news for the country, but the statistics also demonstrate the huge progress that is still needed on accessibility. Overall satisfaction with accessibility was at 65% - that means that there are a number of improvements needed.
One of the greatest benefits of public transport is that it offers everyone the opportunity to travel, not just those who can afford a car. Increasing the spread of step-free stations, disability awareness and training for staff, and rolling stock which adheres to modern mobility standards are all essential elements of making UK rail truly accessible.
