Signalling problems lead to London delays
Rail services to London Bridge were delayed this morning during rush hour due to “operating problems”.
There were also problems at Cannon Street station, where a signalling problem led to delays to Southeastern services.
The disruption at London Bridge took place from around 8.10am. A train was signalled into the wrong platform, which led to delays for those attending Olympic events as well as commuters.
The 10-carriage train arrived at a platform intended for trains with eight carriages and had to be sent back along the track, causing congestion.
There were also difficulties on the Tube when a signal failure at Turnham Green led to District Line services being cancelled from Earls Court to Richmond and Ealing Broadway.
“Our engineers are on site working hard to rectify the problem as quickly as possible,” a TfL spokesperson said.
