Powerful new 3M support for Community Rail partnerships
Providing a sustainable future for rural rail networks is at the heart of all Community Rail initiatives. In partnership with local authorities, train operators can achieve key Government objectives relating to the environment, economic development and social inclusion by encouraging the wider public use of these networks as a preferred, cheaper and more environmentally compatible form of travel.
Pivotal to the continuing success of these partnerships is the use of eye catching train liveries to promote local business, special events and other tourist attractions, inevitably resulting in the creation of mutually beneficial new revenue streams. In association with Martyn Cornwall Design, 3M Commercial Graphics has developed a total train livery capability which is now providing a far more cost effective and much safer alternative to traditional paint-based systems whilst enabling the promotional and financial aspirations of local authorities and commercial sponsors to be realised more effectively.
Through a strategic network of 3M Scotchprint® graphics authorised manufacturers, employing a range of speciality 3M premium quality vinyl materials backed by a powerful 3M rail warranty, entire promotional train liveries, from design through to full implementation, can now be undertaken. The new facility covers not only liaison with the Department for Transport and associated rail authorities to ensure full compliance with all relevant operational requirements, but also sourcing of the most appropriate materials, creation of the train livery graphics and their safe removal and disposal at the end of each promotional campaign.
By harnessing the inventiveness of Martyn Cornwall Design conceptions and the vast technical resources of 3M Commercial Graphics, train operators can now dramatically reduce hitherto burdensome downtime costs whilst providing their community partners with a powerful new marketing initiative through which to promote regional activities and develop local economies.
