Thameslink Programme projects celebrate double success

Success for two projects, who make up part of the £7bn Thameslink Programme, who have been shortlisted for Exceptional Achievement Awards (EEA) by CEEQUAL.

The celebrated projects are the Bermondsey Dive Under, competing in the Ecology and Biodiversity category and the reconstruction of London Bridge station, hoping to claim the award for Carbon, Heritage and Effect of Neighbours.

Excellent ratings were obtained by both projects in the CEEQUAL process, with the Bermondsey Dive Under getting 96.6% as a whole project and London Bridge station receiving a whole team award of 97.3%.

The EEA’s recognise innovation projects and teams who have shown outstanding best practice in a specific area. The scheme operates in partnership with BREEAM aiming to unite the leading sustainability assessment methods for buildings, master planning, and infrastructure from around the world.

Projects are judged on proven sustainability, infrastructure, landscaping, public realm projects and an awards scheme for civil engineering.

The award ceremony will be held in London, on 25 November, where the final decision will be made.

Duncan Wilkes, Network Rail Project Director, Infrastructure Projects said:

“To have two projects shortlisted for these prestigious awards pays tribute to the skill, expertise and dedication of the people who delivered these amazing projects. Both the Dive Under and the new London Bridge station play important roles within the wider Thameslink Programme which has transformed north-south travel through London, dramatically improving millions of passenger journeys each year.”
