Crossrail design tender issued
More good news for rail jobs as Network Rail issues a tender for works at Acton, as part of the Crossrail project.
The works at Acton would help to improve capacity for rail freight in the area, whilst also ensuring that passengers services are not disrupted by freight services, through clever engineering. The tender is for the design part of that work.
Robbie Burns, programme director, Network Rail, said: “Network Rail is transforming the railway to make Crossrail a success and this work at Acton will give passengers a more reliable service.
“It also supports our vision to increase the use of rail freight by taking lorries off the roads, reducing traffic congestion as well as carbon emissions.”
