High Speed Rail will take decades
This is the claim which Lord Adonis made in a recent interview with the BBC, where he predicted that it would take between 20 and 30 years to complete the plans needed for the project.
The minister, who is a keen advocate of all that is rail, has also said that High Speed Rail would ‘transform connections’ throughout Britain.
However, ministers are still awaiting a feasibility report, that will be delivered by the company which ministers set up to investigate the possibility of building a High Speed Rail network in Britain.
Given the current economic situation however, many have questioned where the funding for such a huge rail infrastructure project would come from.
