Greater Anglia provides tailored journey updates for passengers

Passengers travelling with Greater Anglia can be more in the know than ever with live train updates on their app.

The National Rail Enquiries live train running database serves as a pool of information that is used by the Greater Anglia app to provide ‘pop-ups’ with updates on your individual journey.

Passengers are able to click the pop-up on the app and be taken to more details from the National Rail Enquires website.

Martin Moran, Greater Anglia’s commercial and customer services director, said,

“This is an invaluable customer service upgrade which gives passengers a really simple way to see what’s happening with their specific journey and be able to plan accordingly.

“It’s completely tailored to their journey via the ‘Plan and Buy’ journey planner so they won’t have to spend ages searching online and wading through irrelevant information to get the information they need, as we are pro-actively providing it through the app.

“I recommend that people who travel with us download the app and start enjoying all the benefits and convenience it offers.”

The app can also provide journeys outside of the Greater Anglia network, meaning passengers can stay in the know about their own journey regardless of the length or distance, making planning, as well as the actual travelling, easier than ever.

The app is already being used by 90,000 passengers to buy tickets, including finding the cheapest possible for their journeys, reserving specific seats and downloading mobile or e-tickets onto their phone.

Booking through the app also avoids certain booking fees and the need to queue up at the station.

Greater Anglia has recently encouraged passengers to make use of their ‘Smart Card’ scheme, a smart season ticket available making things quicker for passengers and cutting down on paper waste, which can also be accessed through the app.
