Market Harborough to see ticket office improvements

The second phase of improvement works are set to begin at Market Harborough station, East Midlands Trains has announced.

The work will see a modernised ticket office with lower counters, improved customer information screens, contactless payment technology and free wi-fi. It is part of a wider £100,000 scheme to improve the station.

The ticket office improvements will be complete at the end of March.

Neil Micklethwaite, customer service and commercial director for East Midlands Trains said: “Good rail links are vital for connecting people and businesses. The upgrade of facilities at Market Harborough will make a big difference to the overall travelling experience for the passengers who use it for over 1.4 million journeys every year.

“During this franchise we will be investing over £10m in our stations as these provide a gateway to our rail services.”
