Public inquiry into Grayrigg needed – Farron
Commenting on Network Rail’s internal report into the Grayrigg train accident, local Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament, Tim Farron said:
“I welcome Network Rail’s response to this accident. It is good to see the company coming clean and apologising.
“However, this internal report does not answer all the questions. Given the similarities between the Grayrigg and Potter’s Bar crashes, the Government should hold a public inquiry into track maintenance.
“That is the only way to make passengers feel safe and restore trust in the rail network.”
