A platform for good
Introducing recycling bins at stations could be a good way to increase recycling rates in Scotland. Zero Waste Scotland has installed bins at a number of railway stations and is working to increase community awareness of the scheme.
It’s an example of how the rail industry can improve local areas, and take on integrated roles to boost sustainability and a better environment.
Using places where people regularly visit helps to increase engagement, and this can maximise the effectiveness of several schemes. What else could be combined with stations?
