Seeing is unbelieving
A recent press release from Transport for London contained this interesting sentence: “Once [resignalling is] completed, most Circle line customers will see a train up to every 4 minutes instead of 10 and once LU add in additional District, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan line services there will be trains every 2 minutes across much of this part of the network in Central London.”
We have been racking our brains here at the RTM offices, but we are struggling to understand exactly how this is going to be possible. How is such a frequency going to work without some unpalatable impacts on the other sub-surface lines, even with the big increase in tph enabled by new signalling.
Who wants to guess?
