Norbury station improvement works complete
Improvement work is now complete at Norbury rail station, funded through Network Rail and the National Station Improvement Programme.
The revamp covered the ticket office, installation of more accessible ticket window and converting the disused waiting shelter on platform one into a fully enclosed waiting room, refurbishing platform canopies, replacing the roof above the ramps and resurfacing platform one.
Pieter Wilke, Southern’s project manager, told the Croydon Advertiser: “These long-awaited improvements really will make a lasting difference for our passengers. The station is now fit for purpose for today's ever more demanding passengers and we are delighted that the project was finished on time and on budget.
“It’s a double win because Network Rail has invested an additional £1.4m in renewal work, which has complimented the NSIP improvements perfectly and will ensure the station is good enough to meet the expectations our passengers have and deserve.”
