Station improvements at Market Harborough
The first phase of a £100,000 station improvement scheme is now complete at Market Harborough, East Midlands Trains (EMT) has announced.
The work, part of the National Station Improvement Programme (NSIP), includes refurbished toilets and waiting rooms, with new ticket windows to be installed in the second phase of the scheme. The improvements will increase accessibility, with dual height ticket windows and hearing loops. Free wi-fi is also available at the station now.
Neil Micklethwaite, customer service & commercial director for EMT, said: “This investment underpins our commitment to delivering station enhancements for our passengers.
“The refurbished ticket office will make a real difference to passengers who use the station every day, while respecting the station listed status. We will also take the station into the 21st century by providing wi-fi free of charge.”
The works are due for completion by January 2014.
