Refurbishment for Wellingborough station

Wellingborough station is to benefit from further improvements, East Midlands Trains has announced.

The new refurbishment will see the entire station building repainted, additional cycle and waiting shelter to be installed and work to provide a new low counter ticket window to offer improved access for all passengers.

Previous enhancements included a new footbridge and lifts to provide the station with step-free access. The current work is due to start in mid October and will be complete by the end of the year.

Karen Miller, customer service manager for East Midlands Trains, said: “It’s important to us that our stations offer a welcoming environment for passengers, and that’s why we’re in the process of investing around £10m on station improvements across our network.

“As a key station on our network, we are looking forward to delivering even further improvements at Wellingborough station.”
