If you don’t have anything nice to say…
Throwing terms like ‘hypocrisy’ and ‘smears’ around are never going to be conducive to reaching an agreement with someone.
EMT and Aslef need to focus on cooperating to negotiate their dispute, ideally without any more strikes, disruption, or insults.
In using such terms, the train operator seems to be putting its position in the public eye ahead of the need to resolve the clash. However, the best publicity to come out of this situation is not to see EMT as a victim, but for both parties to reach an agreement.
This will require patience, courtesy and empathy for the alternative viewpoint. Otherwise this will quickly descend into a slanging match that is of no use to passengers, workers or the company.
