Tube delays down 15% – TfL
Delays on the Tube continue to decline, new figures published by TfL suggest.
Over the last 12 months, delays to passengers dropped by more than 15%, and LU operated 98.4% of all scheduled train services during Period 6 – the highest level in the last 12 months.
The figures for Periods 5 and 6 cover services between 21 July and 14 September.
Phil Hufton, chief operating officer of London Underground, said: “The Tube is carrying more customers, more safely and more reliably than ever before. We know that London’s population is set to rise to 10 million by 2031, so our task is to make sure that we keep pace with the capital’s demand.
“There are of course many seasonal challenges to maintaining the Tube’s reliability, such as the recent storm across the south east, but we continue to invest and improve the network, and also by focusing on every aspect of the Tube to make it as reliable as possible.”
RTM recently interviewed Hufton about efficiency, reliability and much more besides. You can find that interview here, and in the October/November 2013 edition of RTM.
