RSSB announces new chief executive

Chris Fenton is to take over from Len Porter at chief executive of the RSSB from March next year.

Fenton, formerly director of marketing and strategy at Amey, had responsibility for the company’s interest in Tube Lines, and was previously managing director of testing and inspection at BSI.

RSSB chairman Paul Thomas said: “Chris brings a wealth of experience from across a number of sectors including infrastructure services, chemical, and nuclear. We are delighted to have him on-board to build on the significant achievement and progress made by RSSB in supporting the industry under Len Porter’s leadership over the last 10 years.”

He was appointed by a cross-industry recruitment panel on behalf of the RSSB Board, said.

Fenton, who will join the organisation on January 6 before taking the helm in late March, said: “I am excited to be joining RSSB at such a dynamic time for the rail sector. I look forward to working with RSSB’s dedicated team of professionals and the member organisations of RSSB to support the delivery of outstanding safety and business performance, increased capacity, ever improving value for money and customer satisfaction.”
