East Midlands Trains appoints two new senior directors
East Midlands Trains has appointed a new commercial director and customer experience director to replace its departing commercial director.
Lawrence Bowman (35), the current head of business planning, will take up the post of commercial director next month, replacing Neil Micklethwaite, who will become commercial director at Stagecoach Rail.
Andrew Conroy (47), the current head of customer experience delivery, has been appointed as customer experience director. He has previously worked as a customer service director and route director for Gatwick Express.
Jake Kelly, managing director for East Midlands Trains, said: “Firstly, I would like to thank Neil Micklethwaite for his contribution to East Midlands Trains over the past four years. Under his leadership, the experience our customers receive on our stations and trains has gone from strength to strength and I am confident that we now have one of the best customer service offerings in the country.
“I am particularly pleased that we have been able to replace Neil with two very strong internal candidates. It demonstrates our continued commitment to developing and recognising our internal talent and the appointment of Andrew and Lawrence puts us in a great position as we seek to continue transforming the travel experience for our customers.
“I would like to wish Neil, Andrew and Lawrence all the best in their new roles.”
The East Midlands Trains franchise was extended to Stagecoach last September until March 2018, as part of a £150m deal with the government.
