Arcadis-Tetra Tech JV Secures Place on €600m Irish Rail Framework

Arcadis, in joint venture with Tetra Tech, has been appointed to Iarnród Éireann's Multi-Party Framework for Project MDC PMP Phases 1-5, positioning the partnership to support some of Ireland's most significant rail infrastructure programmes over the coming years.

The Arcadis-Tetra Tech team is one of just five suppliers selected for the framework, which has a published estimated value of up to €600 million over its lifespan.

The agreement will run for an initial five-year period with the option of three one-year extensions. It will provide access to opportunities across the full project lifecycle, delivering advisory and design services that support the ambitions of the All Island Strategic Rail Review.

Under the framework, Iarnród Éireann aims to deliver a diverse portfolio of projects focused on decarbonising transport, improving national connectivity, enhancing accessibility and creating a more sustainable and integrated transport network.

The programme is also expected to support rail network expansion, increased capacity, stronger freight and logistics operations, and wider economic development across Ireland.

Working alongside supply chain partners including IDOM, the Arcadis-Tetra Tech joint venture will provide expertise in design and engineering, environmental services, advisory support, and programme and project management.

The framework is expected to play a crucial role in transforming Ireland's rail network, delivering faster, more reliable and more accessible services while supporting national decarbonisation targets through electrification and modal shift from private car use to rail.

Arcadis and Tetra Tech were selected following a competitive evaluation process that recognised the team's technical expertise, local knowledge and experience in delivering major rail programmes. The submission also highlighted the partnership's collaborative delivery model, governance arrangements and use of digital innovation.

Heather Polinsky, CEO of Arcadis, said:

"This appointment is a significant milestone for our team and partners, and we are proud to support Iarnród Éireann's vision for a more connected, sustainable and high-performing rail network.”

“The framework provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to projects that will benefit communities across Ireland and help shape the future of transport on the island."

The appointment further strengthens Arcadis' relationship with Iarnród Éireann and marks another important step in the company's continued growth within the Irish infrastructure market. It also reinforces Arcadis' commitment to supporting the delivery of transformative rail projects that will help shape the future of sustainable transport across the island of Ireland.
