Arriva Group has announced the appointment of Gianfranco Sgro as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 October 2025. Sgro brings a wealth of international leadership experience in logistics and transport, positioning him to drive Arriva’s strategic growth and operational excellence across Europe.
Gianfranco joins Arriva from Kuehne+Nagel, where he served for nearly 11 years, most recently as Executive Vice President for Contract Logistics, overseeing a CHF 5 billion business with 53,000 employees across 45 countries. He also sat on the company’s Management Board.
Prior to his role at Kuehne+Nagel, Sgro held senior leadership positions at:
- Pirelli, as Chief Operating Officer for Latin America
- Ceva Logistics, where he concluded his tenure as COO for South Europe, Middle East and Africa
His appointment signals Arriva’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team and delivering high-quality, sustainable transport solutions across its European markets.
